A quick post just to say that my internet, as usual, is going to run out in about fifteen minutes, and depending on when the internet place is open (New Years is a public holiday in China), when the lines die down, and when it's not -30, I will drag myself over there and buy January's internet. Be good without me, internets!! I hope to see you again by, oh, Tuesday at the latest?

IT GOT COLDER!!!


That was, of course, at 7:00 this morning. By now, 3:30PM, it is a balmy -11 (wind chill -22).

Between the Ice Festival Tuesday night (which was beautiful, but flipping freezing) and the weather as of late, I have been getting good use out of the phrase 我从来没有这么冷过！(wǒ cónglái méiyǒu zhème lěng guò - I have never been so cold).

When I checked the weather this morning and made that screencap, half of me was going AAAAAAAAH DO NOT WANT, while the other half was like, OOH, my coldest morning ever!

 I have to leave for class, like, a minute ago, but I HAD to share this craziness with you all:



Surprisingly, my post from January 16 has Moorhead colder than this, but I still don't want to go outside. It's my second coldest day ever!

 All the students at HeiDa are going to the Harbin International Snow & Ice Festival tonight, and someone in my roommate's class asked their teacher exactly how much clothing we should wear so as to not freeze to death. Apparently, she said "All of them. Just wear them all."

So... looking forward to coming back with only slight hypothermia. I am going to try to take pictures, but as it's already -4 (-23 wind chill), I'm not sure if my camera will function? But I'll try!!!
